Problem downloading or opening BAZZ Smart Home Application

The free BAZZ Smart Home Application is only compatible with mobile devices IOS 8.0 and above and Android 4.0 and above.

WiFi network with router default password

When you connect your device to your WiFi network, your router will have a default WiFi password. Simply click on "OK" to confirm. For security reason we highly recommend changing the default password to have a more protected WiFi network. Password should contain only letters and numbers (no special characters) and should not be too long.

Trouble adding (pairing) BAZZ products to your BAZZ Smart Home account

Before going through troubleshooting tips, first:

            1. Make sure BAZZ Smart Home Application is up to date.
            2. Try turning off your smart phone.
            3. Try pairing again following steps provided in each product installation instructions.
            4. Try alternate pairing mode, AP mode or SmartConfig (see Product Instructions).
Alternate pairing mode can only pair one device at a time.
            5. Restart your router. Restart your router and make sure your router’s firmware or software is updated to the latest version. You can usually find the latest software by searching for your router model on the manufacturer’s website.

If your products are still not pairing correctly, please follow troubleshooting steps below:

            1. Is BAZZ Smart Home product fully powered on?

Try turning the device on and off.

            2.  Is your phone/tablet connected to your WiFi network?

Make sure your phone/tablet is connected to your home network, same 2.4 ghz WiFi network on which your devices are connected. Check login credentials: network name and password.

            3. Is your WiFi network and/or password with special characters or is too long?

Try changing your WiFi network’s name and password. We recommend using letters and numbers and no special characters. And it should not be too long to facilitate communications between router and smart devices.

            4. Is your WiFi signal strong enough?

If possible, when pairing, make sure device, smartphone and router are as close as possible. Preferably your BAZZ Smart Home products should be installed as closest as possible to your access point/router.

            5. Is there wireless interference?

All WiFi routers have a limit on the total number of devices that can be connected to WiFi at the same time. Refer to your router’s manual for its limit. If you have a lot of devices on your network, you can try disconnecting a few to see if your BAZZ Smart Home products will be able to pair with your network.

Interference can also come from other electronics and appliances that aren’t connected to your wireless network but use the same 2.4GHz or 5GHz frequencies to communicate. Cordless phones, Bluetooth devices, and baby monitors are some examples. You might also experience interference around wireless cameras or security systems. Try unplugging them while doing the pairing.

            6. Is your router setup with recommended settings?

Here are the most important recommended router settings for use with BAZZ Smart Home products.

              - Enable 802.11 b/g/n if you have an 802.11 ac router.
              - We recommend that you use WPA2 encryption.
              - Usually, it’s best to set WiFi channel selection to Auto.
              - Set your WiFi router's DHCP lease time to at least 2 hours.

            7. Is your router broadcasting on 2.4GHz?

There are two frequency bands used for WiFi communication: 2.4 and 5GHz. Many modern routers can broadcast on both bands. BAZZ Smart Home products only use the 2.4GHz band.

A dual band router has two different ways of using the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands. It can broadcast one WiFi network that uses both bands. In that case, your router will automatically choose the right band to pair with your products. But your router can also broadcast separate WiFi networks for each band. If you see two networks, you’ll need a way to be able to tell which bands they’re using. If you’re not familiar with router configuration, you can get some help from your internet service provider.

If you have a single band router, it will only broadcast on the one band it’s capable of using most likely the 2.4GHz band.

            8. Do you have a WiFi range extender?

If you have a range extender or second wireless access point, it could be causing the issue. Try turning off the range extender or second wireless access point, and then connect your BAZZ Smart Home products directly to your router.

My BAZZ Smart Home products are Offline

If your products are offline, it may be due to several issues such as your products are not (manually) powered on, high bandwidth usage, wireless interference and more.

            Troubleshooting tips:

            1. First, make sure your products are manually powered on.
            2. If the Offline status is intermittent, verify if there is a high bandwidth usage or wireless interference.
            3. If the Offline status is permanent, consider restarting pairing your products (see Product Instructions).

WiFi Interference or unstable WiFi Signal

Wireless interference typically comes from three sources: walls and floors blocking wireless signals, other WiFi networks using the same channel as your own WiFi network, and appliances and electronics emitting radio frequency interference.

If walls and floors may be the source blocking wireless signals.

            Troubleshooting tips:

            1. You may need to add a WiFi access point to extend the range of your WiFi network so your BAZZ Smart Home products can connect easily to your WiFi network. We recommend using a range extender from the same manufacturer as your router. For simplicity, set the access point to broadcast the same network name (SSID).

            2. Powerline adapters are another option, especially useful for larger homes with thick or dense walls and floors. Powerline adapters use your home’s electrical wiring for ethernet, so you can easily extend your network right through the walls without installing expensive new wiring. Connecting a powerline adapter to a WiFi access point can bring a strong wireless connection to even the most remote rooms in your home.

            Interference from competing WiFi networks

This problem is especially frequent where there are many WiFi networks nearby. Check for competing networks by opening the wireless options on your phone or computer. If you see there are lots of networks to choose from, you may experience this type of interference.

            Troubleshooting tips:

            1. If possible, move your wireless access point/router.

            2. If possible, move your BAZZ Smart Home products closer to your access point/router.

            3.  All WiFi routers have a limit on the total number of devices that can be connected to WiFi at the same time. Refer to your router’s manual for its limit. If you have a lot of devices on your network, you can try disconnecting a few to see if your BAZZ Smart Home products will be able to reconnect to your network.

            4. Enable channel auto-switching on your router or try changing the wireless channel: WiFi networks broadcast on channels. When nearby WiFi networks are set to use the same channel, they’ll constantly be competing for limited bandwidth.

Many of the latest routers have a feature that lets them automatically find the least crowded WiFi channel. Check your router’s documentation to find out how to enable and set the options for this feature or call your service provider.

            5. If your router is more than a few years old, consider upgrading to a new one that would be dedicated to your smart objects.

Interference from appliances and electronics emitting radio frequency.

            Troubleshooting tips:

            1. Unplug other electronics that may be interfering with your connection.

            New router or WiFi password

Most routers have a basic configuration preset at the factory. When replacing your home router, for security reasons, it is preferable to change default settings by renaming network’s name and choosing a new password. BAZZ Smart Home Application and products need the new router's information to connect to your home network again.

            Troubleshooting tips :

            1. Your BAZZ Smart Home products will automatically recognize WiFi network and connect instantly to your home network again (without having to restart pairing), if you keep same WiFi network’s name and password. Make sure to change your new router default settings to your previous credentials.
            2. If you choose a new WiFi network’s name and password, then you will have to restart pairing your BAZZ Smart Home products. Please see product instructions.

Moving into a home with BAZZ Smart Home products

If you move into a home that already has BAZZ Smart Home products installed, if possible, try removing the previous owner’s settings by asking him to remove the products from his account. If this isn’t possible, reset the products to their to factory defaults, Set Up and add them to your BAZZ Smart Home Application Account (see Product Instructions).

            Lighting Devices

            1. After pairing successfully, my devices started flashing rapidly again.

Your devices have returned to their setup mode, they were reset. Turn off lights for 20 seconds and they will automatically go back to last settings.  Factors that can trigger reset mode: short-term loss of electrical power, due to a power failure or sometimes playing too rapidly with the on/off electrical switch.

            2. After installing my smart switch nothing is working.

Important! The switch must be installed by a certified electrician. For installation there are many requirements. The smart switch only supports one way/single pole circuit, it is not compatible with 3-way switch and a neutral wire is required and cannot be connected to any switch wires.

            Cameras

            1. Camera can’t read the QR Code.

Make sure room and phone are at full brightness and place phone at right distance. If it still does not work, try alternate pairing mode called SmartConfig (or AP mode) (see Product Instructions).

            2. I don’t get Alarms when there is motion detected by the camera.

Make sure motion sensor settings is activated in the camera settings. Once its activated, you will receive screenshots in your Message Center, section Alarm, every time there is a motion detected. These screenshots are kept 30 days in the App. You can always delete them. If you want to keep the history of these screenshots after 30 days, you will need to do manual screenshot by clicking on the button screenshot in the APP, in the device.

            3. I can’t find my recorded videos or screenshots.

Videos and screenshots taken manually are saved in your phone. When you click video recording or screenshot in the APP, IOS will save them in your phone album, and android will save them in your phone My Files/Internal storage/Camera (accessible also in the gallery).

Note: BAZZ Smart Home does not yet offer cloud storage. However, BAZZ Smart Home cameras offer the possibility to buy an SD card (not included) to save your videos and screenshots.

            Sensors

            1. My door sensor is paired but I don’t receive any notifications in my Message Center.

Verify your installation. The small line on the main part should be facing the line on the magnet part. Make sure both parts are close to each other within ¼" range.

            2. My door sensor was working but it’s not anymore.

Check battery level. If light is red, charge or replace battery.

            3. My water leak sensor was working but it’s not anymore.

Check battery level. If light is red, charge or replace battery.

            4. My motion sensor was working but it’s not anymore.

Check battery level. If light is red, charge or replace battery.

            5. My motion sensor is paired but I don’t receive any notifications in my Message Center.

Verify your installation. Motion sensor has a 110-degree viewing angle and a 4-6 m range.

            Alarm

My alarm was working but it’s not anymore.

If not wired, check battery level. If light is red, charge or replace battery.

            IR Remote

            1. I can’t pair my IR remote with the device I want to control.

Try pairing with alternate mode called DIY. When you add remote, at the bottom right you will see the option DIY, tap and follow instructions.

            2. I paired my IR remote with the device I want to control, but it still does not work.

Verify where your IR Remote is installed. It has to be within a 5 m range and a visible range from the device you want to control.

            Trouble using voice control

When using voice control, it is recommended to use your email or mobile phone number to register in your BAZZ Smart Home Application account, and not use other apps like Facebook etc.

Trouble pairing with Google assistant on your phone

To facilitate pairing you may have to use the browser Firefox Mobile.
